The American Election

The Great America has began the Election battle for a nominee to become the next United States President. The battle rages between Senator McCain, Senator Clinton and Senator Barack Obama.
Sen McCain is the only Republic standing who has gain the most votes. President Bush who thinks McCain is his prodigy has endorsed him. The world knows about President Bush's Policies, his strategies and his outrageous sense of humour. Incidentally he is at present, meeting with President Putin in Russia whom he nick names as ''pudypudy'' America is tired of a republican.
That leaves two Democratic candidates Sen.Hillary Clinton, Bill's wife and Senator Barack Obama. Bill, who's Presidency position was short lived on account of his gross miss-conduct, is canvassing for Hillary Clinton who may be the first female President in American history, and who may then become the mouth piece for him should she become President.
We finally come to another historic potential candidate Barack Obama, an African American.
This guy is plaguing Martin Luther King's key word 'CHANGE' and with this as his main tool, public speaking ability and his handsome youthfulness , he has captured the hearts of many many people especially the young first time voters.
Should he ever become President of the United States Martin Luther King would have left a legacy as a stepping stone to his 'American Dream'
One can only wonder what effect that would have on us here in England

The Latest in the bank charges

Today (Thurs 24 April) a High Court judge confirmed what bank charges campaigners have been arguing for two years, that consumer contract regulations do apply to bank charges meaning that 'fairness' counts. The next step is for the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) to assess whether they are actually unfair but as it's the one who took the banks to court, that seems likely. Then it'll try to reach agreement with the banks, and if not, go back to court.
To use a football analogy, before we were kicking the ball around the middle of the pitch, now we're at the penalty spot...though the judgement's massive and the nitty gritty may throw more up.
On 22 May 2008, there will be a case management meeting; at which point it's possible the banks will put in an appeal. Until then, all cases remain on hold. As explained above, my hope is, not long after that, the regulator will lift the hold on reclaiming that was apparently put in place to 'protect consumers' from inconsistencies.
Yet now the law is clear and binding - bank charges are required to be 'fair' - so hopefully it will soon allow people who think they're legally unfair to reclaim again, after all, the banks are still charging these charges!

LIVERPOOL'S EGOTISTIC OWNERS

Just return from a short break in Prague quite enjoyable. However---- I came across a comical observation by an editor in a recent paper and thought to share it with you all irrespective of whether you are a fan or any other club supporter and just in case any of you hadn't read it. It reads and I paraphrase: It's my proud boast that I have no enemies.I have friends who hate me, but enemies there are none. The same can't be said for warring Liverpool chiefs Tom Hicks and George Gillett, once the Statler and Waldorf of Anfield but now Tom and Jerry. Hicks and Gillett are proof the USA are paying the price for the enlightening immigration policy of the American-Indian---Liverpool are paying the price of two billionaires with an ego problem. The Yanks both think they run Liverpool-- even though every one knows it's Gerrard--and neither wishes to back down that why they are egotists. A confrontation at the Emerates due on Wednesday was avoided only because Gillett was snow bound in Colorado--Hicks is so minted that he probably arranged the weather.Yet he is expected on Tuesday night for the second leg unless of course he flies via terminal 5 in which case he's due around September and his luggage in November. It is sad to see two elderly men bickering like this. If they like this part of the world so much why doesnt one sell his share to the other and then the other could buy Everton.
